This business excercise was a very unique experience which is going to be really memorable. It made me realize that one can roam around the entire city without even spending a penny the whole day. Me and my buddy, Chandni Sharma, left for Koregaon Park from SIMS at 9:55 am taking a lift in a Maruti Swift. Finally, we hit KP at 10:25 am after taking one more lift in a Skoda Octavia. Most of the shops and showrooms were closed at that time. We walked uptil the end of KP seeking a job. We met quite a few owners and managers at different shops, outlets and eat-out places. Got into some conversations with them and collected quite a few business cards. But, we couldnt manage to get any job for ourselves. So, we got a lift form a retired Brig, this time a Ford Fiesta, and reached Kalyani Nagar and got into the Gold Adlabs mall. Around 1 pm, we finally managed to find a job at the Virgin Mobile sales outlet. We were trained for 15-20 mins on the latest pr-paid and post-paid plans that we had to the potential customers and make them buy those. Spoke to quite a few customers explaining the plans and lot of them showed interest in them. We took their feedbacks in a written form. We almost achieved about 10 sales of mobile connections before we ended up facing the mall owner and the bouncers there. We were asked to leave the mall immediately since we were made to realize that we did not take the mall owner's permission. We spoke to the Manager at the Virgin Mobile outlet and he could not help us much. So, he ended up gifting us a sipper to each of us that was worth Rs 150/-. We were just an hour away from 4 pm. Quickly, we decided to look out for another job and also found one on the other side of the road. This time at a retail outlet, Cantabil, we starting working there at 3:15 pm with 2 other Commerce graduates studying at Wadias (who were already working there from before). We interacted with quite a few customers and helped them in shopping various clothes. We were putting and stocking up the outlet with the new stock of shirts, trousers and jeans. We finally ended up earning Rs 100/- in 45 mins. Then we left for Post 91 for the meet with Kamath Sir and the Council members. We got back to SIMS at 7 pm taking 5 lifts in 5 different cars, Swift, Honda City, Opel Astra, Toyota Qualis and finally Swift Dezire (a Naval officer). And then finlly here I am blogging at SIMS campus.
